FAQ
Question and Answer (Q&A) on Ink cartridges and toners!

Many questions arise when buying ink cartridges, especially when purchasing on-line. We have listed the most frequently asked questions to our customer service department under our FAQ section (Frequently Asked Questions). We are interested in your opinions, ideas and questions, so do not hesitate to let us know.

Why choose our products?

Because we only sell high-end, reliable, economical products that are in compliance with the law. We work exclusively with suppliers with STMC and ISO certifications.

What is STMC certification ?

STMC stands for the Standardized Test Methods Committee. This global committee formed to find and promote standardized test methods for the printer cartridge industry. The test methods are used to evaluate toner printer cartridge performance. Standardized test methods make it possible to evaluate a cartridge anywhere and come up with the same test results no matter who tests it. Standardized tests do not specify how a cartridge must perform; they only measure it.

ASTM International (American Society for Testing and Materials), is an independent, organization of volunteers that work under very strict rules that force objectivity to write test methods. STMC and ASTM are not the same. The STMC has accepted several ASTM International test methods as well as ISO, ISTA, and ANSI test methods.

A company that is STMC certified is one that has had their employees successfully trained by an authorized trainer in these test methods, attests to using these test methods, and has purchased the correct test equipment.

Ink cartridge, which one to choose?

We tend to think that all the ink cartridges are identical and that only the price differentiates them.

Think again.

There are 2 important factors to consider when choosing your inkjet cartridges.

1. The ink molecule that is calculated in Picoliter

2. The composition of the ink

a. Pigmented ink

b. UV Ink

c. Colored water-based ink

d. Chemically colored water-based ink

For example, consider a printer that is calibrated to inject droplets of 1.5 Picoliter (approximate size of a human hair) and that the ink in your cartridge is only able to offer droplets of 3 Picoliters. You will use twice as much ink to print.

And if your printer has been designed to be used with a pigmented ink, but your cartridge contains a water-based ink. You will have to continually do maintenance (Cleaning of the heads) which will use a large amount of ink.

We offer our customers only offer cartridges that respect, as closely as possible, the characteristics of your printer.

That’s how we succeed in delivering real savings to our customers!

Laser cartridge, which one to choose?

How to choose your laser cartridge?

We offer you three types of product range.  Once we have determined which is best suited for your use, we will find you the most sensible and economical product.

• (HD) High-definition compatible cartridges are the closest to the original cartridges.

They are mostly used for a high-quality printing finish (solid black and more lustrous).

For black documents, HD cartridges are mostly sold to those who print invoices, reports containing graphics or documents containing more than 7% text / image on an 8 ½ X 11 (Image) document or more 10% to 20% for the color printed document. (Picture)

• (EHQ) Economical, compatible cartridges are mostly used to print general reports and documents.

The high-quality economic cartridges are mainly sold to those who print general documents, report etc. or less than 7% text on an 8 ½ X 11 (picture) document and 10% to 15% for the color printed document. (Picture)

•(HDRQ) Recycled High Definition cartridges in Quebec are cartridges recycled from the original cartridge and rebuilt with the best components.

For those looking for an environmentally friendly alternative to the original product, the high-definition cartridges recycled in Quebec are the solution.

If the product you are looking for is only available in one of the above mentioned categories, it is that it has been qualified only in this category of product.

The standards mentioned above only apply to the products we sell on this site..

Does a "non-original" ink cartridge offer the same number of copies?

Before answering this question, it is important to understand how the number of pages was determined by the original manufacturer.

This comes from a US standard that requires all original cartridge manufacturers to perform accurate standardization tests before indicating how many pages their cartridge will offer.

For monochrome cartridges (Black): ISO / IEC 19752

For color printers: ISO / IEC 19798 and 24711

These standards date back to 2004. At that time it was determined that the average of the monochrome texts printed by consumers was 5% text or graph on a page 8 ½ X 11

The calculation is different for color cartridges with a variance of 5% to 20%

 A reality sometimes different.

Today, the average printed by the consumer is more than 7% to 10% text and graphics for monochrome cartridges and 15% to 25% text and graphics for color cartridges.

What is the difference between an original, compatible and recycled cartridge?

What is an original product?

Original cartridges are those that are produced by the manufacturer of the printer.

What is a compatible product?

Compatible cartridges are new cartridges manufactured by a manufacturer other than the manufacturer of the printer.

What is a recycled product?

Recycled cartridges are original cartridges that have been rebuilt with compatible new components.

Can I damage my printer with "non-original" cartridges?

NO ! We assure you full compatibility before placing a product on the market. One of our commitments is to guarantee our products 100%.

Will my printer's warranty be voided if I use "non-original" cartridges?

Have you ever heard that using a compatible or recycled ink cartridge will void your warranty?

The next time a technician or salesperson tells you this, ask them to put it in writing. There's a good chance he will not. Why? Because it is illegal to require a customer to use specific supplies to honor a warranty.

You have the right to use the supplies of your choice! Printer manufacturers stipulate that the use of supplies other than original supplies is not sufficient to void warranty. This is not canceled by the simple fact that a "non-original" cartridge would have caused damage. If this is the case, the supplier of the compatible cartridge, or recycled cartridge, would have to make the repairs at his own expense.

The anti-monopoly provisions of the Canadian Competition Act stipulate that OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) cannot impose the use of their cartridges as a condition for honoring their warranty. Using a non-OME cartridge does not invalidate your printer’s warranty.
